This is my husband and I seeing each other for the first time in almost 8 months. He is a United States Marine, and was deployed to Afghanistan at the beginning of the year. The only communication we had was via email, and very few phone calls. He sent a text message on my phone at about 6:45 that morning simple saying “The plane landed. We’re here”
I shot out of bed, threw on my clothes, and went down to the family center, and waited.. and waited.. and waited some more. Imagining myself running and jumping into his arms.
I was pretty much glued to my spot when I finally saw him. A little bit before 9am there he was standing right in front of me.
I cried I was so happy. In the middle of a crowded, loud gym, We had our very first intimate moment in 8 months. It was perfect.
He’s been home for 2 weeks now, and I simply don’t have words to describe how amazing it is. I thought I loved him when he left. But it doesn’t begin to compare to the love I have for him now.
