Far from being weird, I think that’s relatively normal. I have to say though, I don’t think you can rely on relationships like that, it’s something that has to come from within. You have to have self-confidence and not be too afraid to make mistakes that you don’t take any risks (though that’s enormously hypocritical coming from me).
Being in a relationship will make you happy but developing yourself can only ever come from you, at least if you do it properly. I think the way we should think about it -as I think pretty much the same way a lot of the time- is just to not worry too much and just try to enjoy ourselves.
